Additional supports help ensure that students who are blind or visually impaired can fully participate in school routines, social activities, and literacy experiences. These supports address areas that extend beyond academic instruction but are essential for independence, emotional well-being, and meaningful participation in daily life. Students with visual impairments often benefit from intentional planning and access to resources that support daily routines, social understanding, literacy development, and emotional support. Vision professionals work collaboratively with educational teams and families to identify resources and implement strategies that promote independence, confidence, and full participation.
