Because students may not consistently access visual social cues, explicit instruction is essential. Students learn how to contribute to group tasks, communicate appropriately, express agreement or disagreement, and advocate for their needs while respecting others. Through direct instruction and practice, students build confidence, develop positive relationships, and gain the skills needed to succeed in collaborative environments.
