Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree with a desire to pursue a master’s in teaching students with visual impairment. Minimum one (1) year of previous professional work experience sufficient to indicate an ability to successfully undertake this position. Must have initiative, sound judgment, dependability, creativity, a capacity to assume & delegate responsibilities, and the ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Catholic Charities Maine ESBVIC (Educational Services for Blind & Visually Impaired Children) program is looking for a dedicated and organized Coordinator of Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS).
The Coordinator of Pre-ETS is a person working to develop quality programs for transition age youth, while expanding their knowledge in the field of blindness and pursuing a career as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments. They would work with ESBVIC staff, along with DBVI, students and families to identify the needs, assist in getting appropriate documentation for DBVI, and coordinating logistics to implement programming throughout the state. This position is Part-Time, 24 hours per week.
Responsibilities:

They would work with ESBVIC staff, along with DBVI, students and families to identify the needs, assist in getting appropriate documentation for DBVI, and coordinating logistics to implement programming throughout the state. Responsibilities:
- To facilitate the referral of all 14-year-old students for pre-employment transition services, getting the appropriate paperwork to DBVI to begin providing these services.
- Working with the Technical Advisor for Transition, Develop Pre-Employment Transition Service activities appropriate to the needs of students who are eligible or potentially eligible. Instruction is provided by TVI’s.
- Coordinate the logistics of providing these programs including securing a location, materials, devising surveys as appropriate, coordinating registration etc.
- Assist in the implementation of transition activities throughout the calendar year for Pre-Employment Transition Service and potentially eligible students.
- Identify those students who are Pre-ETS and not yet eligible for vocational rehabilitation services (potentially eligible), the services they need and with the input of the technical advisor for transition, develop programs to build engagement.

- TVI's in Maine are itinerant and follow a school year calendar. The TVI's provide direct and consultative services to children with or without additional disabilities birth through age 21 or completion of high school. Services include instruction and consultation in all areas of the expanded core curriculum.
