Non-verbal skills help students who are blind or visually impaired understand and use body language, positioning, and physical behaviors to communicate effectively. Much of human communication occurs through non-verbal cues such as body orientation, posture, facial expressions, and personal space. Because students with visual impairments may not have access to incidental visual learning, these skills require direct instruction and guided practice.
