Learning to correctly set and clear the abacus is one of the first and most important foundational skills students must develop. Before students can use the abacus for counting, computation, or problem solving, they must be able to accurately represent numbers and efficiently return the abacus to a cleared position. These skills support accuracy, build confidence, and allow students to work independently without relying on visual confirmation.
