Theatre provides students who are blind or visually impaired with opportunities to develop self-expression, communication skills, creativity, and confidence through dramatic experiences. Because many aspects of theatre rely on visual cues, students may benefit from direct instruction in body movement, spatial awareness, expressive communication, and stage positioning. Instruction focuses on storytelling, dramatic play, performance skills, and collaboration with others. Participation in theatre supports social development, emotional growth, creativity, and meaningful engagement in school and community activities.
