Eligible for certification in the area of Visual Impairments in South Carolina
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and appropriately document an educational program that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students;
- Create an instructional environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students;
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and - in harmony with the goals - establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, etc. to communicate those objectives to students;
- Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives;
- Assess student performance on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required;
- Use data-based decision-making to adjust instructional strategies, methods, and materials to improve student performance;
- Collaborate with colleagues, students, and/or parents to facilitate and improve student engagement;
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner;
- Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher assistant(s) and/or volunteer(s) and, cooperatively, withthe department head or principal, evaluate their job performance;
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence; and
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Salary
$64,782 - $125,726 (BA +0 years to DOC +40 years experience) Based on 25-26 school year
